CONSTITUTION
Article V - Membership
* * * Any candidate for membership must be proposed and seconded in writing. The name
and address of the candidate, with the names of the members proposing and seconding him, must
be sent to the Secretary and by him delivered to the Board of Trustees. Due notice of the
proposal of membership, together with the name and address of the candidate, must be given
to all members. Members shall be elected by the Board of Trustees by secret ballot only.
Two black balls shall defeat an election. The Board of Trustees shall by bylaws create such
divisions of membership as they may deem proper, setting forth the regulations, requirements
and privileges of each class of membership, it being specifically provided, however, that
membership of all classes shall be open to either sex.

SECRETARY:
* * * He shall receive all membership applications and letters of recommendation,
and shall transmit them to the membership committee for review and action. He shall
act as chairman of the membership committee, which shall include at least two other
people, appointed by the Commodore, who are either members of the Board or committee chairmen.
He shall report to the Board on the membership committee's action on each application.
He shall notify the members through publication in the Log or by special notice from the
Secretary of each application that the Board approves for circulation.
