Stingray Point Regatta Tune-up Races

DESCRIPTION

This event will be structured as a tune-up day for boats planning to enter the Stingray Point Regatta the following weekend. Shortly after completion of the skipper’s meeting, the Race Committee will set a short (approximately 300-400 yards between marks) triangle course which will be available for crew practice until 1230. Beginning around 1230, the Race Committee will run 3-5 practice starts using a rolling, continuous 5-minute sequence. These starts shall be indicated by the Race Committee flying code flag "P" in place of class flags. When the Race Committee is prepared to start the first race, Code Flag "P" will be replaced by standard class flags and a new warning signal will be made.

PROGRAM

Awards will be presented for each race completed and refreshments will be provided by FBYC after the day’s races.

Skipper’s
Meeting

There will be a Skipper’s Meeting at 0930 hours, at the flag pole adjacent to the Jackson Creek parking lot.

Warning Signal

The warning signal for the first race will not be made before 1300 hours.

Subsequent races

The Race Committee will signal its intention to run additional races by displaying Code Flag "R" at the finish line. If Code Flag "R" is flying at the finish, remain in the vicinity of the Committee Boat and watch for the warning signal for the next race shortly after the last boat finishes the current race. The starting sequence will be the same as for the first race.

COURSES

The Race Committee will describe the course location and method of indicating the course at the skipper’s meeting. NOTE that the Race Committee may use a course board similar to that used at the SPR.

TIME LIMITS

If one boat in a class (i.e., PHRF SPIN, MORC, OR PHRF NON-SPIN) finishes within one (1) hour after the start for that class, then the race will be valid for all boats in that class.

SCORING

The winner in each class will be the boat having the lowest total point score for all races conducted for that class. A boat may qualify for winning regardless of the number of races she has started. There will be no throw-outs. The results of these races will not be used to determine winners of FBYC perpetual trophies.

CBYRA SANCTION

This event is not CBYRA sanctioned.
