DESCRIPTION

This event will consist of one race Saturday July 3, 2004. The full moon will be July 2, 2004.

This race will be part of the Long Distance Series, along with Urbanna, Smith Point, and Wolf Trap races.

Program

There will be a dinner at the clubhouse at 1700 hours, and refreshments following the race.

PHRF Non Spinnaker will be sailed allowing only one (1) headsail downwind.

Warning Signal

The warning signal for this race will be at 1930 hours.

STARTING AREA

The Committee Boat could be anywhere from Piankatank R. G "5" (FBYC "A"), to Piankatank R. QR 15’ 4M "6" (FBYC "B") or beyond. The starting line will be between the orange or yellow flag on the Committee Boat and either a government mark listed in Appendix A or special buoy "X".

COURSE

The first mark of the course will be either (1) special buoy "Y" located to windward or on the approximate magnetic course from the Committee Boat as may be displayed by numeral pennants or digits shown on the Committee Boat or (2) a government mark listed in Appendix A. The Committee Boat will display either a "Y" or other letter to designate the government mark. After rounding the special buoy "Y" or the government mark, yachts shall sail the remaining marks of the course set forth below:

FINISH LINE

Between Piankatank R. Lt. QR 15 4M "6" (FBYC "B") and the orange or yellow flag on the Committee Boat stationed north of FBYC "B". If the Committee Boat is not on station at the finish, leave FBYC "B" to port, and take your own time when you are within 25 yards of FBYC "B" and it bears 180˚ magnetic from the helmsman’s position, and if possible record the names or sail numbers of the boats finishing immediately ahead and behind you. This information should be passed along to the Race Committee Chairman as soon as possible after returning to the dock.

TIME LIMIT

2400 hours for all classes; boats finishing after 0200 hours on Sunday, July 4, 2004 will be scored DNF.

AWARDS

Awards for this race, and the Long Distance Series will be given at the Annual Awards ceremony.

CBYRA SANCTION

This event is not CBYRA sanctioned and the results of this race will not be used to determine winners of FBYC perpetual trophies.
