Learn to Sail
The Learn to Sail Program is for kids that want to stick close to home but still have the opportunity to get out on the water for some supervised sailing and basic instruction from our Summer Coach. Participating juniors will sail club Optis, club Lasers or Laser Radials or their own boats. Choose from any of the five sessions shown on the table below. Each of the sessions are held on four consecutive days from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Housing is available for most sessions at Christchurch School. See Housing. Parents are required to volunteer for at least two days per session this season. They can for example choose to carpool kids from/to Richmond on two days, or chaperone several kids through a regatta or two. This summer FBYC will host a non-racing Learn2Sail Program where juniors of all ages can learn to sail and enjoy the water. The program will be supported by the Summer Coach who will be dedicated to juniors who wish to remain at the club to pursue their sailing interests. Supported classes will include Optimists, Club 420, Laser and Mobjack. Choose from any of the five sessions are available. The programs runs from 9:00AM to 4:00PM on scheduled days with a one-hour break for lunch. Housing is available for most sessions at Christchurch School. The Learn 2 Sail program summary:
