Opti Development Team

The Opti Development Team ("ODT") is for beginning sailors who want to learn more about racing and sailing in regattas. ODT has capacity for 6 sailors, who will sail Optimists and have a dedicated coach. Training will occur throughout the summer on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (except when racing event schedules dictate otherwise) for 3-4 hours each day. Sailors will travel with their coach and parents to attend several local regattas and one regional or national event, at their option.

As part registration for ODT, parents are required to volunteer for at least two events this season. They can, for example, choose to carpool kids from/to home to FBYC on two days, or chaperone several kids to regattas.
