FBYC Board

Shown below is our Board page - now driven 100% by the member database. We have also added the capacity to have Profile and Boat Pictures on each Member record in the database - collecting the images takes some time.

Prior year Boards are visible on these links: 2017 - 2016 - 2015 - 2014 - 2013 - 2012 - 2011 - 2010 - 2009 - 2008 - 2007 - 2006 - 2005 - 2004 - 2003 - 2002 - 2001 Positions held by resigned or deceased members unfortunately show up as unfilled, as they are no longer in our member database.

Flag Officers

Commodore

David "David" Lennarz

Need Boat Picture
David Lennarz began sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with his parents and two older brothers at an early age. Later, during high school in Florida, David crewed and skippered larger sail boats in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. Passages to Mexico and one through the Panama Canal helped David gain valuable blue water experience. At the University of Virginia, David served as the Sailing Association Commodore and organized the annual "Sail Bahamas" trip, coordinating a flotilla of 12 boats (105 participants) on an annual trek across the Gulf Stream and into the waters of Bimini and the Berry Islands. Also while in college, David became a skipper and sailing instructor for Sail Caribbean Voyages, a teen sailing school based in the British Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands. After several seasons of teaching teens, David became a program director for Sail Caribbean, overseeing a sailing staff of 16 and flotilla of 8 boats and over 200 hundred youth each season. While much of David's time was spent in the BVI, he also ran programs in the Leeward Islands, as well as in Greece. Following stints of living in the French West Indies and Paris, France, David and his wife Alison returned to Virginia and settled in Tidewater, where they have raised two children, both graduates and participants in FBYC's various junior sailing programs. David and his family reside in Williamsburg, Virginia, and have a summer home on Stove Point near FBYC. They have been active members of FBYC since 2005, and for a number of years explored the lower Bay on their Pearson 33' "Corossol".
