Directions to Fishing Bay Yacht Club

Fishing Bay Yacht Club is located at Deltaville, Virginia, near the mouth of the Rappahannock and Piankatank Rivers. The Club is on Stove Point and has waterfront both on Fishing Bay, a small-protected bay on the Piankatank River West of Stove Point, and on Jackson Creek, which enters the north side of the Piankatank River just East of Stove Point. The E911 address is 1525 Fishing Bay Road, Deltaville, VA - although no mail is received at that address.

Directions from Deltaville to the FBYC Clubhouse

Follow the directions shown below to get to Deltaville. Entering Deltaville, turn right on Fishing Bay Road (Rt.1102) at the 7-11 Food Store (Exxon). Follow 1102 about 2 miles to Fishing Bay staying on the main road. When you arrive at Fishing Bay, the road turns sharply to the left. Follow the road along the beach, cross several speed bumps, the road reenters a wooded section and shortly you will arrive at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. On the left will be our dry-sail launching facility, Fanny's house, and parking and on the right will be our new Clubhouse, our boat ramp, and our one-design racing area on Fishing Bay. Past the yacht club the road converts to a private road and goes to the end of Stove Point.

Directions to FBYC from the Chesapeake Bay

The Piankatank River enters the Chesapeake Bay just South of the Rappahannock River and Stingray Point and just North of Gwynn Island and about 8 miles North of Wolf Trap Light. When you enter the Piankatank River, you should head for the 'Green Dolphin' - Piankatank River Fl G 4s 19ft '3'. Stove Point, a long narrow point of land will be due west. From the Green Dolphin, you have two choices. You can head for Jackson Creek at the north end of Stove Point. There is a circuitous channel entrance with a depth of usually 6-8 feet around the right. Once you enter Jackson Creek, the FBYC docks will be straight ahead on the left, and there are excellent protected anchorages throughout Jackson Creek.

Alternatively, from the Green Dolphin, you can head west and go around the south end of Stove Point and enter Fishing Bay, which is west of Stove Point.

Directions to Deltaville

Driving from Richmond to Deltaville ? 1? hours. Interstate 64 East to the West Point (Rt. 33) exit. Rt. 33 goes all the way to Deltaville. Go east on Rt. 33 through West Point to Glenns ? where Rt. 33 turns left at a stop-light near a Seven-Eleven Store ? and then to Saluda 3 miles later - where Rt. 33 bears right off the 4 lane road into Saluda. In Saluda, Rt. 33 turns right at the stop-light near the Exxon station. Follow Rt. 33 past Christchurch, Hartfield, Amburg toward Deltaville.

Driving from Washington to Deltaville ? 2? hours. Interstate 95 South to Fredericsburg. Take Rt 17 East to Tappahannock and then to Saluda. Bear left off the off the 4 lane road into Saluda. In Saluda, go straight onto Rt. 33 at the stoplight near the Exxon station. Follow Rt. 33 past Christchurch, Hartfield, Amburg toward Deltaville.

Driving from Annapolis to Deltaville ? 2? hours. Rt. 301 South through Waldorf to the Potomac River Bridge. Continue on Rt. 301 across the Rappahannock River to Port Royal. Turn left on Rt 17 East to Tappahannock and then to Saluda. Bear left off the off the 4 lane road into Saluda. In Saluda, go straight onto Rt. 33 at the stoplight near the Exxon station. Follow Rt. 33 past Christchurch, Hartfield, Amburg toward Deltaville.

Driving from Norfolk, Hampton, or Williamsburg to Deltaville ? 1? hours. Drive to the Yorktown Bridge and follow Rt. 17 to Gloucester. Entering Gloucester turn right on Rt. 17 Business to Rt. 3 West. Within a mile, turn right on Rt. 3 West. Stay on Rt. 3 for about 15 miles. You will go left on 3 to Kilmarnock and Whirestone, right on 3 to Matthews and Kilmarnock, and left on 3 to Irvington an Kilmarnock. Finally, you will cross the Piankiantank River Bridge. 2.3 miles after the bridge go right on Stampers Bay Road (Rt. 630). Follow 630 for 1 miles, it dead ends into Rt. 33. Turn right and go about 5 miles to Deltaville.
