This is a race management seminar for prospective Club Level Race Officers and other Race Committee (RC) team members looking to contribute to club racing at a higher level.
This Race Management Certification program strives to:
* Make racing more enjoyable by improving the quality of race management
* Standardize race management practice to benefit competitors and RC members
* Identify qualified active race officers and make them available to race organizers
* Provide structured training and continuing education
* Provide insurance coverage to certified race officers under US Sailing's general liability policy
Jerry is a thoroughly professional race officer who peppers the seminar with tips gained during his years of experience as PRO for regattas of all kinds. He is a US Sailing National Judge, US Sailing Regional Race Officer and a US Sailing Basic Race Management Instructor. His home club is Carolina Sailing Club where he campaigns a Force 5. He is a longtime member of the Mutineer Class Association and competed in the Mutineer Nationals last November. He also races a radio controller Laser, Star 45 and EC 12.
If you simply wish to become a more informed and versatile member of the race committee, we encourage you to attend this seminar. You will discover the ins and outs and whys and wherefores applicable to all levels of regattas (junior, midweek, weekend and championship). There is no pressure to take the exam, and you will be able to network with others who will share their insight and experience.
