FSToms River.jpg Two recent articles about the Flying Scot have recently been published - both are available for download as PDFs at our Publicity page.

The first is an article called Classic, Fun and Thrifty in the January, 2009 issue of the Chesapeake Bay Magazine. It is a scan so is a large 7.5MB file.

The second is an article entitled The Flying Scot North American Championships published in the recent issue of The Virginia Sportsman, written by Lud Kimbrough about his experince at Toms River Yacht Club this past summer racing with his son Blake. The article has good event photos taken by David Neff.

Southern Bay clubs' racing and event officials have been at work since October on the 2009 CBYRA Region 4, "big boat" racing schedule.  The  official Southern Bay Racing Schedule (CBYRA Region 4, Handicap Fleets (Big Boats) will be ready for official publication in early January.  Watch for announcement in SBRNYCU.  Now, efforts are being directed at  Junior and One-Design schedules - point of contact is Tom Roberts at  tjroberts2@cox.net

PHRF Class Splits of Region 4 (Southern Chesapeake Bay) for 2009 - announced as follows:
REGION 4 - SOUTH DIVISION:   A - Up to 109;   B - 110 to 163;   C - 164 and Up;   Non-Spin - all
REGION 4 - NORTH DIVISION:   A - Up to 112;   B - 113 to 166;   C -  167 and Up;  Non-Spin - all
There is NO Change from the 2008 class splits.
 
PHRF elected new officers for 2009 in November and those with southern Bay responsibilities are:  Mike Dale, VP for Region 4 and  Christian Schaumloffel, Chief handicapper for Region 4.   The new president of PHRF of the Chesapeake is Bruce Bingman and the Secretary-Treasurer is Bob Thomas.  Stewart Buckler continues as …
