Mike Toms on

ILCA Logo - Small

The Laser Fleet at Fishing Bay welcomes you to come join us this Sunday, July 27th, for our club one-day Summer race. The weather looks perfect for a Summer day of Laser Sailing - 90 and mostly sunny, wind from the SW at 8-10. Water temps are a pleasant 76 degrees and the nettles are few, so it should be an ideal day to be on the water. We will have a mix of skilled and veteran sailors out there, so no matter what your skill level, we look forward to seeing you there. Of course, the pool is open, if you want to bring the family. We also have plenty of other kid-friendly entertainment options. And we can set up …

Once Hurricane Aurthur blew through it was smooth sailing for the Flying Scots and Front Runners at the first One Design Summer Sea Breeze regatta on Saturday.  What was clouds with winds in the 30's just a day before gave way to mostly sunny skies and 8-10 knot winds for 4 races run by PRO Mike Dale and his race committee.  Thanks to Veronica Hinckle for some pictures.

Long Distance Race Change to NOR: New Course

David Hinckle on

One Design Racing

In anticipation of somewhat breezy conditions possible for the Long Distance race this Friday we have changed the NOR to add an additional course #5 to the event.  This course will be sailed entirely in Fishing Bay and not around Stove Point.  Given the forecast of northerly winds this should give a protected venue for fun safe racing!  The new course #5 is as follows:

  • Start at #12,
  • windward to "Y",  drop mark in F.B. leave to port
  • Proceed to #15 honoring #13, leave to port
  • Round #15 leaving to port
  • Proceed to #12 honoring #13 to starboard
  • Round #12 leaving to port
  • Finish at Mr Roberts near FBYC dock
