Commissioning Dinner Oversubscribed Overflow seating available through Monday April 8.

The April 1 deadline for reservations for the dinner following the Commissioning on Opening Day has passed and we have received far more reservations that we ever expected. We have expanded our seating by 75% but we are at capacity for reserved seating and for Chef Alain Vincey and his staff. As a result, we must cut off reservations to the $25 per person "Chef Alain Vincey Dinner" at the 300 adults already on board as of Monday night's count. Those 300 adult guests will have dinner in 3 tents which will surround the downstairs screen porch.

We will extend reservations for another week  for overflow seating and eating in the Junior Tent, which will be erected on the Boat Ramp between the Pool and the new Clubhouse. As a result the FBYC Boat Launching Ramp will be closed from Friday morning early April 12 through Monday April 15.The Children will have an early buffet dinner (during cocktail hour) in the Junior Tent. At the adult dinner time, the Junior Tent will be converted for a second seating for non-reserved seating for up to 70 overflow guests.  If we exceed 70, we simply ask you to change to multiple shift seating. Dinner for the overflow guests will be the same buffet chicken dinner planned for the children.

All reservations received this week will be filled on the basis of overflow seating in the Junior Tent. All guests should check in at the Registration Desk to pick up dinner tickets, which will be lapel stickers - different for each type of seating.  At that desk you can also buy drink tickets for after 8 PM, when the "on-the-house" cocktails are completed.

E-mails of reservations to Julie Chapman are encouraged, but checks for the cost of the dinner still need to be sent to Julie Chapman, 8809 Watlington Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229.

All adult guests may still enjoy the "on-the-house" cocktails before dinner and the dancing to follow dinner. All adults will be provided an initial inventory of wine for each table with extra bottles available for purchase.

I am both sorry we cannot accommodate everybody the way we had hoped, but excited that so many of you want to participate in the Commissioning. I hope this plan allows everybody to help celebrate the commissioning of the new Clubhouse.

We look forward to seeing you on April 12-13. Please come join with the 24  former Commodores as we commission our great new building.
