Cruising update

We have several events coming up in quick fashion. The first is the Progressive dinner this weekend which is filled to capacity thanks to the deligence of Sarah Carneal. The next weekend June 30 is the cruising regatta. This is a pursuit type race officiated by Case Whittemore and has been a lot of fun in the past. Following will be a dinner hosted by Ric and Sharon Bauer with awards. Would be great to see 20 boats on the racecourse.

So sign up ASAP. The following weekend will be the Pirate Invasion at the Hole in the Wall hosted by Carl and Diane Simon. This year will be a joint venture with the one design sailors and cruisers-one big party. So dress up the kids and get some water balloons and join the fun at the hole in the wall-look for an announcement.

In August we have the Captains Choice hopefully going to Indian Creek-announcement was in the log so get signed up ASAP.  Then in September the annual Tides Inn Cruise takes place which has been a popular event the last couple of years. Then comes the fall cruise. The response has been overwhelming in favor of a northern cruise with responses from 11 boats intending to participate. A tentative schedule is as follows -

September 24-October 2
Sat        Horn Harbor
Sun       Solomons
Mon      Annapolis
Tues     Annapolis
Wed      San Domingo/St Michaels
Thur     San Domingo/Oxford
Fri        Solomons
Sat        Indian Creek
Sun       Home

These destinations are all tentative and could change depending on the wishes of the group. All locations facilitate anchoring which is nice in the fall. Horn Harbor has a choice of anchor or marina, a place for cocktails and a choice of eating aboard or the resturant. Solomons has a choice of anchoring or Calverts-which is $1/foot, Zahinisers or Spring Cove. Again a choice for dinner. In Annapolis there are also choices. In San Domingo it will be anchoring with a choice for dinner. Oxford there is anchoring or the Tred Avon Yacht club-$2/foot. Hopefully, there will be beautiful fall weather and a good time for sailing and social time.

Hopefully this update is just a memory jogger.  Time is passing very quickly and the fall cruise will be over and we will be almost finished for the year. I feel like we should just be starting not finishing-where has the time gone? Signup ASAP before time passes you by!
