Sunrise FBYC's Jim Covington, aboard Sunrise, grabbed the coveted, first place overall at the annual Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta this past weekend at Yankee Point Marina. No races were held on Saturday due to insufficient wind, so it all boiled down to the staggered start/pursuit race on Sunday. Seven FBYC boats finished in the top 16 out of 95 boats, taking four firsts in class. FBYC finishes in addition to Sunrise: 5th -Trilogy/Wayland Rennie (1st in class), 7th - Allegro/Owen Davidson (1st in class), 8th - Tatiana/Charlie Parrott (2nd in class), 9th - Windblown II/Carol Woodward (2nd in class), 14th - Desperado/Ric&Sharon Bauer, 16th - Avalanche/Brad Ward (1st in class). A moment of silence was held in honor of 2003 winner, Jack Moseley. Jim Covington will get to represent the event at the 2005 National Hospice Regatta Championship in Annapolis in April.

The event is limited to boats whose design is 25 years old or greater, and raises money and public awareness of Hospice, whose volunteers care for the terminally ill.
