What do sailing, power boating and kayaking have in common – with baseball? Well, baseball will be joining the line-up of events for this year’s Southern Chesapeake Leukemia Cup Regatta. The occasion is the Inaugural “Leukemia Cup Regatta Night at the Ball Park” at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 19. For the first time, fans and players will be joining a host of other participants, sponsors and contributors in raising money to fight leukemia, the leading disease killer of children.

“This is a special cause and this will be a special game,” says Mike Ward, publicity manager for the Deltaville Deltas. “We expect plenty of action when the Deltas square off against the Fredericksburg Meadow Farm team. And, I can assure you that everyone will have a good time.”

The game will be played at the Deltaville Ball Field on Route 33 East (General Puller Highway) in Deltaville, and all proceed from the game will be used for leukemia research and patient care here in Virginia. Tickets are just $4.00 and will be available at the gate.

For more information, please contact Kristin Stokes at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at (800) 766-0797/(804) 627-0406 or e-mail stokesk@lls.org. See you at the ball game!!!
