The ILCA Dixie Districts are to be held at Fishing Bay June 8th and 9th. We are anticipating 15-25 boats. Some competitors are in need of housing and crew. If you're willing to provide a boat or cottage for visitors during the weekend, or you're interested in crewing. Catalina Yachts plan to raft up in Fishing Bay on Memorial Day weekend - invite FBYC members to join them

Members of the Catalina 27 list on sailnet are sponsoring a raftup which this year will be on Fishing Bay. I wish to invite members of your club. We hope to make this an annual event, each year picking a new location in the mid to southern Chesapeake. Chesapeake Yacht Sales will be bringing one of the new Catalina's. If anyone wishes to join us please feel free there is no particular restriction vs boat or interest, just an afternoon and evening of good company with fellow sailors.

Results for the joint Mosquito Point Regatta with RRYC

Fishing Bay's first foray into a joint event with the River clubs seems to have gone well and been well-received. 16 boats competed, 11 from FBYC and 5 from the river: a good turnout considering what conditions looked like early Saturday morning. The attached file is a Word 97 document with the overall results. If you wish me to fax you the long version, give me a call at 804-747-4500 or email me with your fax number. Ties were resolved pursuant to RRS App A, Rule A8 (in most cases A8.3).

In due course the results, as regards the FBYC Spring Series, will be integrated into the series scoring.

“The Charm of the Chesapeake” is the theme for the 4th Annual Southern Chesapeake Volvo Leukemia Cup Regatta Wine Reception, Saturday, May 18, at the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News. Guest presenters for the event will be well-known Bay sailors and authors Dick and Dixie Goertemiller. The Goertemillers, who live in Reedville, are founders of Chesapeake Bay Magazine and for many years were editors of the popular Guide to Cruising Chesapeake Bay. They have sailed the Chesapeake for more than 35 years and have written hundreds of articles and stories covering their many cruising and sailing adventures. j29 Hustler, owned by John and Tony Esposito from New Rochelle, New York, won the FBYC J/29 Invitational Regatta, which was sailed on April 19-21. With this win, Hustler continues its dominance in 2002 of the J/29 circuit with earlier wins at the Key West and St. Petersburg regattas.The second place boat was Rhumb Punch, which is owned by John Edwards and skippered by Clark McKinney, both of whom are from the Solomons, MD area. The top placing FBYC boat was Titillation, which is owned and skippered by Paul Anderson. Titillation nosed out Patriot by one point. Patriot is owned and skippered by Case Whittemore.
