TWO WEEK CRUISE OF THE NORTHERN BAY

JUNE 28 - JULY 11, 2003

Saturday, June 28th, we will start a cruise of the Northern Bay. We are planning to have the boats sail straight away for the West River just south of Annapolis, 89 nm, where we will stay through Sunday night. The Bay will begin to flood at Windmill Point at 0845 hours. With a good wind we should be able to ride the flood all day. A bus will be provided to take family and guests to this destination and bring crew back that helped with the sail up. Sunday night we will have dinner at the Pirates Cove Restaurant.

On Monday June, 30th, we sail to Baltimore’s inner harbor, 35 nm, where we will stay through Tuesday night, July 1st. A choice of Baltimore activities will be available. Wednesday, July 2nd, is still open. We will either go to the Fredericktown/Georgetown area, 37 nm, on the Sassafras River and visit the Mount Harmon Plantation in the late afternoon or go to Still Pond for a raft up, 26 nm.

Thursday, July 3rd, our destination will be Rock Hall, MD, 18 or 30 nm depending on where we spend the previous night. There will be fireworks at Rock Hall on July 3rd and at Chestertown on the 4th of July. It is an easy trip to Chestertown on the Rock Hall Trolley.

Saturday, July 5th, we will sail into the Choptank River and up San Domingo Creek to the back door of St Michaels, 44 nm. We will stay two nights and have time to enjoy the town.

On Monday, July 7th, we leave for Solomon’s Island on the Patuxent River, 30 nm. This is a necessary stop on our route south. Some may want to anchor and others may prefer one of the Marinas.

Tuesday, July 8th, we head to St. Mary’s River off the Potomac River, 35 nm, and anchor off the docks at St. Mary’s College. The next morning we can visit the College and historic area. In the afternoon we sail to Olverson’s Lodge Creek Marina off the Yeocomico River, 14 nm. Here we will have a cookout under their pavilion.

On Thursday, July 10th, we sail to Reedville, 33 nm, and dine together at one of the local restaurants for our last night. Friday, July 11th, we sail back to FBYC, 30 nm. Since we will return early on Friday, everyone can still participate in the Volvo Leukemia Cup activities.

Please let Fay & John Koedel know as early as possible if you plan to participate in this cruise. Docks are at a premium during this period and must be confirmed as soon as possible. koedel@oonl.com or (804 776-6168
