FLEA MARKET

FBYC CLUBHOUSE                                          SATURDAY - MARCH 18, 2006

FBYC IS HOSTING AN OLD FASHION FLEA MARKET FOR MEMBERS TO SELL, BARTER OR TRADE THEIR BOATING STUFF. BOATING STUFF MAY BE ANY USED OR NEARLY NEW EQUIPMENT, MARINE SUPPLIES, ONE-DESIGN BOATS, OPTIS OR DINGHIES.

Time: 1:00 to 5:00 PM-rain or shine

Fee: See Listing Fee Below - $1 per table for "Stuff" or $1 per "Boat to sell".

Dinner: 5:00 to 6:00 Fee: $ 7.50

Reservations: FBYC website

Tables will be set up downstairs in the clubhouse, for members only to display stuff. If needed, the overflow will be handled by using the upstairs or outdoors under the FBYC tent. Sailboats for sale will be displayed in a designated area in front of the clubhouse. You must register to sell or have dinner. If you do not plan to sell but will attend only, please also register how many will attend and how many for dinner. Registration may be made via the FBYC website at Register Here or email/phone to the event chair.

Registration - we have used a "Wednesday Night" on line event registration form and have "cheated" the system to allow Sellers to indicate if that plan to sell anything. Dick Cole is attempting to get some idea of who is selling and what is being sold. If you plan to sell a Boat, we ask that you describe it in the "Comments" section on the form. We plan to display the "Comments" on the web site, so Buyers can see what is being sold.

So when you visit Register Here to Sign Up, you will be asked to buy either "Boat to sell" or "Stuff to sell" for $1 each, which is really our way to collect from you an indication of what you will be selling, and to reserve you a spot at the flea market.

  • Dinner ticket - which are priced at $7.50 each
  • Stuff to sell - indicate how many table tops needed $1.00 - buy one if you have some stuff or 2-3 if your stuff needs more 8' tables
  • Boat to sell - indicate type: Opti - Laser - Dinghy - or Other - and how many - and we ask you to describe it in the comment area where you would normally write your crew names or covered dish!! - price to sell is $1.00 per boat

This is an excellent time to remove all that GOOD STUFF out of the garage, attic, office or dock box. This valuable equipment you have been hording for many years can be turned in to something useful like CASH, and then you can buy someone else’s REALLY GOOD USEFUL STUFF that you can use. It has been said that some stuff our members have been hording may even be considered art or antiques.

We expect many members will display and a large numbers of members/guests will attend. Only members can sell their stuff but we suggest strongly that you bring guests and even spouses - if you dare. Suggestion for the spouses: “If you really want him or her to sell or dispose of that stuff, you should come too!”

The objective of this event is for members and guests to have a great time and maybe go home with a bargain or two.
