RACING AND COURSES  The regatta is comprised of (i) the Stingray Light long-distance race; and (ii) the Stingray Point Regatta.

  • The Stingray Light long-distance race will be held on September 4, 2015, and will be scored separately from the Stingray Point Regatta. The course will be set around government marks and may vary in length based on the weather conditions on the day of the race. A skipper's meeting will be held in the vicinity of the flagpole located closest to the Jackson Creek docks at 11:00.  A warning signal will be given at 13:00.
  • The Stingray Point Regatta will be conducted on September 5-6, 2015 near the mouth of the Piankatank River. The number of daily races will be determined by the Race Committee based on the weather conditions on each day of racing. The warning signal for the first start each day is anticipated for 11:00.

SCORING

  • The Low point Scoring System of Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing will apply, as modified. Each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races. There shall be no throw outs. One race constitutes a series. Boats still racing that do not finish within 45 minutes of the first boat finishing in her class will be scored the number of finishers plus two. Others will be scored DNF (Did Not Finish). This changes RRS 35, A4.1, A4.2 and A5.
  • The Friday Distance race will be scored separately from the races held Saturday and Sunday and will not be counted towards the Brent Halsey Jr. Memorial Trophy.

AWARDS Class awards for first, second and third place will be presented daily. For multiple race days, class awards will be presented on combined scores for the day. Overall class series as well as Brent Halsey Jr. Memorial Trophy awards will be presented on the last day of the regatta.
