Have you ever wanted to be part of the Race Committee but did not know how/where the on-ramp was to get involved? As a racer, have you ever been puzzled by a Race Committee decision on the course and wondered why they did what they did? Have you ever wondered how races were set up, executed, or what all those people on the Signal Boat and Mark boats were up to?
Now is your chance to find answers to these questions as the Race Management Team will offer a “Race Committee 101” Training workshop... twice!!... to maximize participation.
The learning goal of this basic workshop is to familiarize participants with the roles and responsibilities of all people on the Race Committee boats before, during and after the race. The workshop will also include a visit to the Race Committee Shed so you see where all the tools for racing are kept. Experienced volunteers will be on hand to add value and answer your questions.
Attendees' names will be sent to 2024 Principle Race Officers(PRO) to get you on a boat and apply what you learned. PRO's are encouraged to send members of their Race Committee teams to deepen their basic knowledge before getting out on the water, or attend in person to find new recruits for your RC team!

Join the FBYC Race Committee team...it all starts with this workshop!
