If you have been through Deltaville recently, you have probably spotted signs for the Mathews VFD's First Annual Boat Docking Contest. Don't worry - you don't have to enter the contest - just watch! The competitors are in commercial workboats. Here's a link to the event:

The event takes place on Saturday June 22nd from 11 AM to 7:00 PM at Williams Wharf on the East River and it is a benefit for the Mathews Volunteer Fire Dept. The event includes bands and beer. There will be food trucks and other vendors too. Organizers say they will shuttle you from your boat to the event. This is a ticketed event, but you may be able to watch from your own boat anchored a safe distance away.

 

Arrive on Friday and find a prime anchorage on the East River; come on Saturday morning and take your chances; or go for a nice sail and arrive after the event concludes and simply enjoy the company of fellow FBYC cruisers. Distance from the entrance to Jackson Creek is about 29 NM. Additional details to follow.
