13TH WEE DRAM RACE/CRUISE to CAPE CHARLES
August 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2026

Attention!! You are responsible for your own slip reservation!! Cape Charles is charging $3.35 / foot this year, same as 2025. There is a ONE night deposit requirement during registration. The deposit is refundable, if you cancel up to 48 hours before arrival. Make sure to tell them that you are with Fishing Bay Yacht Club - this is very important! 30 slips have been reserved.
NOTE: You must register on the FBYC website AND make your slip reservation at Cape Charles!
The Wee Dram will voyage to Cape Charles again this year. Note: You may start any time after
7:00am on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Bear in mind that the social is at 5:30pm on Saturday.
The fleet is typically split between arriving Friday or Saturday.
“Rules”:
1. Entry Fee – brown bagged bottle of a decent single malt scotch whisky (no “e”). No screw caps.
2. Non-spinnaker, single head sail.
3. All crew are to overnight aboard (like the old days). Grab a sail bag to sleep on if need be.

Course:
Start: Each boat will start herself and record the time that the helm position is within 100 yards
due north of Piankatank G3 (FBYC C). You may start any time after 7:00am on Thursday,
August 20, 2026.
Finish: Each boat will record their finish time when the helm position is within 100 yards due
west of G “1CC” Fl G 2.5s (marking the entrance of the Cherrystone Inlet Channel and Cape
Charles Harbor).
Wolf Trap Light is not a mark of the course and may be left to either Port or Starboard.
The Social:
Each boat is asked to bring an appetizer to share, and one “entry fee” noted above for the contest
within the contest. Also, if you can bring a table or a tent, that would be great. The club will provide food to supplement the appetizer table, water bottles, tasting cups, voting cups, paper towels, and trash cans.
As votes for the most inspiring brown bagged scotch are being tallied, adjusted cruising elapsed
times will be determined, and the Wee Dram burgee awarded to the boat with the lowest adjusted time. The winner of the scotch tasting will receive a prized whisky. There is no obligation for the winner to host next year.
