CHESAPEAKE BAY LASER MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

OCTOBER 16 & 17, 2004

Fishing Bay Yacht Club has been hosting Laser Master Regattas since 1982 and this year's Regatta will be the 21st held at our site. Our Regatta this year has been delayed because of conflicts with our Optmist and Flying Scot fleets but we promise you our well recognized hospitality and our excellent facilities. Please join us.

DESCRIPTION

This regatta is a two-day event with up to eight races for Lasers sailed by skippers 35 years of age or older. The event will determine the Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Champion.

Fleets will be divided as follows;

35-44 Apprentice

45-54 Master

55-64 Grand Master

65 and older Great Grand Master

SCHEDULE

Registration Friday 1800-2000 and Saturday 0900-1000

Skippers meeting Saturday 1000

1st warning signal Saturday at 1100 with up to 5 races.

Unforgettable Saturday dinner courtesy of Chef Alain starting at 1800.

1st warning signal Sunday at 09.00 followed by up to three races.

RULES

RRS, USSA prescriptions, Laser Class rules, SI's, Black flag rule RRS 30.3 applies. RRS Category B regatta. Laser Class membership required

ILCA NA Region Championships Regatta Courses.

ENTRIES

Contestants must be members of the International Laser Class Association and be at least 35 years of age on the first day of racing.

Entry Fee - includes Sat and Sun breakfast and Sat dinner with Alain Vincey! $60.00 ($5 discount for USSailing members) ($75 after October 4)

Social package - includes Sat and Sun breakfast and Sat dinner for non contestants $20.00

LATE REGISTRATION

The entry fee is increased by $15 for entries made after October 4

DIRECTIONS

Deltaville is on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay and is approached via US 17 and US 33 regardless of whether you drive on I-95 from the north or I-95 and I-64 from the south. At Saluda continue east on US 33 to Deltaville and turn right at the Little Sue Exxon station on Route 1102, and follow the signs until you see Fishing Bay immediately in front of you. Turn left and continue slowly for some 0.25 mile over multiple speed bumps until you see the MORC dry sail area and hoist on your left. Car parks are on both sides of the road immediately east of the dry sail area. Camping at the club. Please leave your pets at home.

SCORING & AWARDS

Scoring: RSS A2 low point system. One discard with 5 or more races. Three (3) races required for Championship.

Add points per race as follows:

Apprentices (35-44) 3 points

Masters (45-54) 2 points

Grand Masters (55-64) 1 points

Great Grand Masters (65+) 0 points

Awards: Top 3 in each category, plus first lady and first Radial

CBYRA SANCTION

This regatta is sanctioned for CBYRA High Point awards in the Laser Class.
