having adjusted the date to suit the Federal holiday calendar.  Take a sail

the Pride of Baltimore.  Cross your southern Bay fingers and toes
for our fine lady, Virginia.
Time does fly!  Hampton Yacht Club
celebrated its 100th anniversary  this past weekend.

Bar in Solomons - site of the Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge
Regatta.  The Tiki Bar officially closes for the season on Saturday,

on all day, that evening they will have a ticket-required Halloween Bash,

GOT  PHOTOS?   Huey Fourquet is putting
together the slide presentation featured at the CCV Awards
Party on November 9.  If you have racing, or party-ing, or people
pictures you want to share, get them to Huey.  He wants the presentation to

glory!!!   So, send questions or photos to Huey at   huey@ccvracing.org
(Be sure to identify your photos and the photographer.)
Keep the lights on!  Coming up on Saturday, October
20, the 'Round the Lights Race.  Especially loved by
racing navigators and tacticians.  Also, enjoyed by crewbies and rail
riders 'cause they get to theorize on which way is the best route to which
lighthouse, Middle Ground or Thimble Shoal.  For info and to register,
contact  OPCYC Dennis Miner at (757) 867-1028.
CCV Racing officials have announced the addition of awards
to be given to all boats that
qualify   for the much coveted CCV High Point
Awards.  In 2007, including 2 races this coming weekend at
the conclusion of Fall Series, CCV will have run 12  High Point
Races.  To qualify, racers will have to have started a minimum of 9
of these races. These awards will be presented in conjunction with the
fleet High Point Awards at the annual presentation ceremony, beginning with this
year's upcoming event set for November 9th.
MURPHY'S LAW:  Chris Columbus
and his fleet, Santa Maria, Pinta, and Nina, bumped into
San Salvador Island on October 12, 1492.  Which just goes to show that
it may be a good thing for us that Chris did not have
GPS!     /S/  Murphy the Racing Beagle, the sailing
spirit in us all.
