FBYC Scots Clean Sweep 4 Clubs to Win Team Race

In an excited phone call from Mike Schmidt, who was fresh off the race course, I understand that today, Sunday Aug. 20th, 3 FBYC Flying Scots won in a clean sweep against 4 other clubs at RRYC. 15 boats (5 groups of 3) competed from 5 clubs in the second of three Capitol District team race events scheduled for this year.

Sailing for FBYC were Travis Weisleder with our Commodore Lud Kimbrough as crew, Michael Schmidt with Mike Toms as crew and Mike Miller with John Wake as crew. WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!!!

Other clubs sending teams were LOWSC (Lake of the Woods), SBSC (Selby Bay Sailing Center), GRSA (Greater Richmond Sailing Club), and our host RRYC. FBYC hosted and won the first team race on June 25. I heard through the grape vine that SBSC was sending a secret weapon - FBYC never saw it!

The 3rd and final team race for 2006 is at LOWSC on Sun. Oct. 29, 2006. We hope FBYC will field 2 teams for the final one. Stay tuned or better yet come join the fun!
