Come join your fellow members and guests on Thursday evening, March 20th, at the
Westwood Club to spend a relaxing, low key evening with friends for our 2025 Winter
Program. We’ll be serving light hors d'oeuvres with a cash bar beginning at 6:30pm, and
there will be a brief presentation of CBYRA high point awards for the 2024 season.

We will be sprucing up the Club!  Note: Specific needs will be determined as we get closer to 3/22 based on what can be accomplished prior.  We may have indoor/outdoor needs so sign up and stay tuned!

We will need volunteers to assist Ron Jenkins in prep/maintenance of our FBYC Adult Sailing Boats (Flying Scots)

.Bring work gloves, any yard tools (such as wheelbarrows, pitchforks, rakes, shovels, cordless drills and trimmers, etc and please label well), comfortable shoes, and come hang out with friends and make the Club and our Adult Sailing Boats gorgeous and ready for a new year! What’s Included:

Registration Information:

• Fee: $60 (includes course materials, refreshments, and social)
• Who: Open to adult beginners and intermediate sailors who want to learn how to crew on race boats. The course is available to both FBYC members and non-members.
• When:
• Classroom Sessions: Tuesdays, March 25, April 1, and April 8 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
• Meet the Skippers: Friday, April 11 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
• On-the-water Training: Saturday, April 19 (full day)

On Saturday March 1 at Hampton Yacht Club we will host a workshop for all sailors, sailing organizing authorities (think clubs), and potential funders to collaborate on our efforts to work together to build sailing participation and success in the southern Chesapeake Bay. It will be led by Dawn Riley who was on the original all-women crew of Maiden that took second place in their fleet for the 1989 Whitbread Round the World Race, and now director of Oakcliff Sailing in New York that runs training at all levels to help US sailors achieve success.
