“FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS” CRUISE OCT.15-17, 2004

We will cruise to Onancock or the Corrotoman River (or other areas) depending on the wind and weather forecast. . For those who can leave on Friday, we will plan to raft up or meet on the dock for a 6 PM cocktail party. Those who will leave on Saturday can catch up with us that afternoon. Please bring a hors d’ oeuvre to share with the group. I will have wine and beer for the group on Friday night; bring other refreshments if you need something different. Dinner will be on board unless there is a restaurant in the area that you would like to enjoy. Onancock will be our prime destination should the winds be favorable, but if not I’ll contact those who have notified me of their participation by email no later than Thursday at 8 PM. I’ll post the destination on our website at www.fbyc.net on Thursday.

Should you like to tentatively reserve a slip in Onancock, then please call the dock master at 757 787 7911, Issac Annis, 8 AM to 6 PM, daily. If we go to Onancock, I’ll do my best to arrange a tour of Kerr Place, the beautiful home on the main street of Onancock, on Saturday. My friend, Bob Arthur, will plan to read again to us from his collection of poems in Hymn to the Chesapeake. If in Onancock, we will plan to eat out on Saturday, if you’d like, or others might enjoy eating on board. Plan to bring a hors d’oeuvre to share with others on Saturday, no matter our location. BYOB to the cocktail party on Saturday.

Other potential locations might include Indian Creek( north), Mobjack Bay (south), or Urbanna (west). Be prepared for a fun sail as I’ll choose a destination to allow the best chance of sailing, so be ready to go North, South, East or West depending on the weather.

Please note that Strother has added on-line registration for this cruise. Please Click on Sign Up Here or in the list of Upcoming events. In this way, each person at FBYC can see who is signed up for this event and we can keep a running total for all to share. Please try to use it and see if it works for you as it has for the racing events.

Contact Tony Sakowski at 804 285 3347, cell 804 387 3875 to RSVP or doctorlasik@aol.com. You can look for information in the LOG or at www.fbyc.net. We will contact those boats who register by the 13 Oct. with the final destinations no later than Thursday, Oct. 14, at 8 PM.

We will monitor channel 9, not 16, for this cruise. Please make a note. Look for your email of response on Thursday, Oct. 14 no later than 9 PM.

Hope you can join us.
