Final Practice - Fall Race Team

The 2013 FBYC junior sailing season finally comes to a close this weekend with the last Fall Race Team practice before the winter break. It has been a fantastic and wonderfully successful year!

Matthew Fontaine Maury Bowl - Allison and David Lennarz

We owe much of that success to Allison and David Lennarz. For those of you who have not yet heard, they were awarded the 2014 Matthew Fontaine Maury Bowl at the Commodore’s Ball. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions to sailing at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. Allison and David have been instrumental in the success and growth of the Junior Division over the past 10 years. They have been a critical part of every aspect of the program, from Opti Kids and Junior Week to the Race Teams. For the past three years they have served as the Junior Division Commander, overseeing all Division activities; Allison in 2011, and David in 2012 and 2013. During that time participation in our junior program exploded due in large part to their leadership. Their contributions are apparent in all aspects of the program today, and thankfully they will continue to be a part of the future. David will continue to chair our Hiring Committee, and Allison will continue to support the Race Teams, and of course, Nick and Claire will continue to race. Thank you David and Allison for all you have given!
