One Design Racing

This coming Saturday is our annual Family Regatta - always a crowd pleasing one design event marked by tremendously casual yet competitive fun. Don’t forget to get your team registered and bring the whole family out for a great time on the water: https://www.regattanetwork.com/event/24653

We’d love to see an abundance of Melges 15s, Flying Scots, and perhaps other fleets out on the line. Skippers meeting is 10:30am followed by first gun at Noon.  Typical format is several short races to allow for plenty starts and lots of mixing it up in close action. Creative team uniforms and goofing off are highly encouraged.

The Start of the One Design Spring Series.

Saturday the 30th of April was almost a picture-perfect day for the start of the One Design Spring Series. Goldilocks temperatures, forecasted for 7-10 kts of breeze, partly cloudy, in short, a beautiful day on the water.

Even better, we had 18 boats registered, 16 sailed in three (3) one design fleets with one (1) Portsmouth boat. The Flying Scots, with A and a B fleets (ability grouped), ICLA Dinghy’s (Lasers) and the new Melges fleet were all well represented.
