2019 Junior Laser Team.jpg

Wind, fog and dead calm infused with heat indexes over 100 degrees did not stop our FBYC Junior Laser sailors from racing fast in the Laser North American Championships in Brant Beach, NJ July 18-21.  With more than 120 contenders, including adults, this was the largest regatta for many of our Juniors.  Our eight racers, along with their coach, braved the conditions and represented FBYC well. Pictured are Logan Hayes, Guthrie Braun, Joshua Almany, Morey Levy, Jack Cabell, Luke Hayes (CNU), Finn Ciszewski, Coach Alex Zimmermann, Jordan Bendura, Joshua Bendura.  Special shout-outs to Guthrie Braun who placed 6th in Laser Radials and Jordan Bendura who placed 18th.

We are proud of you all!

Junior Week Volunteers Needed

Julie Ann Wash on

Junior Activities

Year after year, a common bit of feedback from parents are "it is so amazing how many people volunteer for the week", "We love coming here because it is not paid, bored staff running the camp, but volunteers passionate about what they do", and similar themed gushing about our volunteers.

Without you, the FBYC Junior Week would not be the powerful experience it is.  Countless volunteers man safety boats, coordinate the Junior Shed supplies, manage the safe entry of boats in and out of the water on the ramps, give out bandaids and scoop ice cream!  We encourage you to look at the signup genius and see if there are a few hours where you can give your time, whether …

The season started with junior week which was a great success followed by our Annual Junior Regatta.  The team’s right out of the gate did a fabulous job with Boyd Bragg taking first in 420’s, Madeline Amthor first overall in Opti is with Josh Bendura a close second.  We had five of the top 10 spots for Opti is overall including John Vail, Reed McAllister and …
